Explore the history and excitment of Jazz, Rock n Roll, Popular and fiddle! Learn how to take a contemporary tune and switch it over to fiddle style. Learn the history and stories behind the pieces. We will also do fun theory based games, such as listening bingo, improv, rhythm challenges and more! Designed for children through adult, come join the fun! Around the Farm Home Kit includes a Family Guide, Home CD, and Rhythm Sticks. The Family Guide details what a child learned in the classroom, suggests home activities to continue the learning, has a colors-on-the-farm game for the parent and child to play, and includes Cows in the Kitchen, a story of farm animals who wake up their sleeping farmer. The Home CD includes all the songs from the class and a narration of Cows in the Kitchen. The Rhythm Sticks are made of fine hardwood and have a smooth finish for easy cleaning.

This month your child will experience the concept of fractions through hearing and playing quarter and eighth notes. In class we’ll do “call and response” activities to the rhythmic sounds of African music. Meanwhile, your child will sharpen listening and attention skills, as well as fine tune you’re her ear to finding patterns. Play together the activities in your Home Kit, and you’ll help your preschooler develop a strong foundation in math, rhythm and coordination, and critical listening. Includes CD, song booklet and drum.

Up in the Sky Home Kit includes a Family Guide and Home CD. The Family Guide details what a child learned in the classroom, suggests home activities to continue the learning, has a riddle and rhyme activity game for the parent and child to play, and includes Someone Bigger, the story of Sam, a little boy whose Dad does not let him hold the kite string. But when the kite catches wind and pulls Dad and a cast of characters into the sky, Sam’s the only one who can pull them down. The Home CD includes all the songs from the class and a narration of Someone Bigger. The Three-Bell Jingle has a handle that’s easy for little hands to make music with their three jingle bells.

In class we’ll explore the rhythms and sounds of Native American music. As we investigate, compare, and contrast a wide variety of drums and the materials they’re made from, preschoolers develop the investigative vocabulary needed in the sciences. When that same earning pattern is repeated at home through the Home Kit, the children get an early start in math, too.
